Brooklynn - 2023

Brooklynn/Casper, WY: 2023

Diagnosed July 2019 with high-risk neuroblastoma at age 4.

Brooklynn’s parents knew something was wrong when their active outdoors - loving four-year-old daughter began slowing down and complaining about her legs hurting. After multiple trips to the emergency room and doctor appointments without clear answers, an orthopedic doctor in Casper referred them to Children’s Hospital Colorado, thinking it might be a bone infection. It was there that they received the news that would impact their lives forever - four-year-old Brooklynn had cancer.

Brooklynn was diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma and immediately underwent treatment. Since her diagnosis in July 2019, Brooklynn has undergone six rounds of chemotherapy, MIBC radiation therapy, immunotherapy and a bone marrow transplant. She and her family had to leave Casper and stay in Denver for 15 months during her treatment.

Brooklyn officially finished treatments in December of 2020, however she continues to be checked every six months at Children’s Hospital Colorado.

Brooklyn is now 8 years old. She is enjoying 2 nd grade. She loves bowling, soccer, and playing with her dog Barley and her bearded dragon lizard, Spikey. She is growing, smiling, and laughing every day.

Brooklyn is cancer-free.
